Your home’s gas line facilitates the use of some of your home’s most important functions. Without your gas line functioning properly, you are unlikely to be able to heat your home and operate appliances properly. That’s why your gas line is such an important investment. When making that investment, here are the common cost factors involved:
The complexity and scope of your home’s gas line installation or replacement can dictate the labor cost for the project. If your home requires an extensive, complicated installation, then the labor costs for the project are likely to be higher.
To install your home’s gas line, a JW Heating & Air technician will have to run your line from your home to the main supply line. The further your home is from the main supply line, the longer your line that needs to be installed has to be, and thus the more expensive your installation cost will be.
In some cases, there may be additional costs associated with connecting your home’s gas line to the main supply line from your provider.
Depending on the jurisdiction, a permit may be required to install a new gas line for your home. No need to worry though, JW Heating & Air technicians have the appropriate expertise to guide you through the permit process.
Normally, any appliance in your home that uses gas needs a shut off valve. Shut-off valves are an important part of any gas line installation to ensure the safety of those in your home.
Perhaps the most indicative cost determinant when it comes to installing a gas line is the type of piping a homeowner elects to have installed. A JW Heating & Air technician can help you determine what type of piping is best for your Los Angeles, CA home.

The 40-year-old heating system at my mother-in-law's house failed a week before Thanksgiving. We had used JW 5 years ago for our house and they did an amazing job. They were our first call for our current issue. Roberto, our service technician, came out and was kind, professional, courteous, and gave us outstanding service. He couldn't solve the problem with the unit on the initial visit and went over and above to find replacement parts and devise a solution- including rearranging his schedule so that he could attend to our needs as soon as possible. Ultimately, the old unit could not be repaired and I spoke with Eric to explore other options. This is a company that takes pride in providing outstanding service and hiring amazing people like Roberto. I'm a big fan of this company and will use them as my first call for any of my heating and air conditioning needs.

Recently I had a plumbing safety inspection done. Kevin came to check things out. My water lines were in good shape. He then proceeded to inspect my gas lines under the house. He found leaks in some of the lines. Kevin showed me videos of a test he performed, which showed the gas escaping. He was patient and very professional as he explained everything he had done and exactly what he found. The visuals he presented helped see exactly what he was talking about. He proceeded to talk to his supervisor, and it was decided to turn off my gas for the night. I appreciated Kevin's concern for my safety.First thing the next morning Kevin, his supervisor and the manager all showed up. They conducted one more test that confirmed the leaks, showed me those results, and gave me options. These options were explained fully to me. They gave me plenty of opportunity to ask questions too, making sure I understood exactly what each option entailed. I didn't want to mess around where gas was concerned, so I chose to replace and redo the entire gas lines.Kevin continued to be a most caring person, and saw the entire project through, start to finish. He explained the inspection procedure to me, and even cleared his schedule to be here when the city came to do their inspection.I was extremely happy with this experience. Kevin went above and beyond, which I appreciated immensely. He was professional, as well as caring, courteous and respectful.

There are pluses and minuses to working with a large company. In our case we did a complete HVAC upgrade. The teams were very fast and efficient. We had few other companies give us bids, one was a little lower and a couple were a little higher. The only downside of this, is that all the teams do their thing and it doesn't appear that they know what the other teams have to do or is done. This was a really big job, and there were a few glitches along the way. The team we worked with was outstanding in the quality of work and the time it took to do the job. Eric, our project coordinator was exceptional. He listened to what we were trying to achieve and showed us many options to get there. Once the work was completed, he came by to set everything up and make sure we were happy with the work done. We went from a system that couldn't keep up with the SoCal heat to a house that goes as cold as we want. I don't think our experience could have gone better, a great company to work with

No, installing a gas line is not a do-it-yourself project. If you don’t have a professional technician, like one of those from JW Heating & Air, install your gas line, you are likely to encounter problems that place yourself and those in your home in danger.
When it comes to deciding how to power your home and its appliances, your monthly energy bill budget is likely a big consideration. As such, it’s important to know that historically natural gas has been a cheaper option than electricity to heat a home and power its appliances.
Generally speaking, gas lines are installed 18-24 inches below the ground. However, different climates and home systems may require a line to be installed at a different depth.
It can be very dangerous when trying to excavate near a buried gas pipe. To locate your buried piping, call your local energy provider or give us a call at JW Heating & Air.
It will depend on a lot of things to decipher how long it will take to get natural gas service installed for your home. A professional at JW Heating & Air will help establish a timeline and plan that will identify when construction will start, and provide you regular updates throughout the process until gas service is available.
Gas pipelines typically last for decades before needing to be replaced. Make sure you have an HVAC technician at JW Heating & Air help perform yearly maintenance on your gas pipelines to ensure they last as long as possible.
You will most likely need a gas line installation in the following circumstances: the gas pipes are old and/or worn out, a severe weather event or natural disaster damages the lines, you’ve experienced recurring gas leaks, you are in the process of constructing a new home or addition to an existing building, and/or you are upgrading your appliance. Gas line replacement and installation always needs to be done by a professional, so call a qualified technician at JW Heating & Air when you’re thinking of replacing and installing new gas lines in your home.

Alex Amaro did a great job on my furnace tuneup. Great photos of my unit — which was in tip top condition. New filter ordered. Thank you!
