There are endless signs and symptoms to signal that your water line may have a clog or break in serious need of professional attention. The lines begin to blur a bit more on whether your water line is in need of repair or replacement. You will need one of our plumbing experts to determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate for your particular situation. With that said, the following are signs that your water line will require intervention:
If there is a clog or break in your water main, it will affect the water pressure in your home, usually causing it to decrease. When a clog or break is present, less water is able to move through the pipe, and therefore not able to make it to your fixtures as it normally would. Decreased water pressure is a very common sign of a broken water main.
Has your monthly water bill randomly increased? If it has and you notice any of the other symptoms on this list occurring, you may have a clog or break in your pipe. When there is a break in the line, it will often waste excess water, causing an unexpected increase on your monthly utility bill.
If you have wet patches or pools of vibrant grass throughout your lawn, you likely have a water main break. Pooling water and a foul odor from the water is an almost indisputable indication that your water main has suffered a break. In this event, you will need to call us for expert help immediately before extensive damage occurs to your home and the water line.
When a water main line breaks, dirt and debris can get inside of the pipe and eventually your water supply. Because main lines are underground, toxic and hazardous objects can leak into your water supply, causing your family to potentially fall ill. If you notice that the water from your sinks, bathtubs, and drains appears to be different in color or smells, you may have yourself a water main break.
Another sign that your water main may be in need of repair is odd, loud noises coming from your plumbing when it is not being used. If you notice water moving or just various plumbing noises in general while these appliances are not being used, there is a major issue that will need to be resolved.
Lastly, if you notice that many of your toilets, sinks, or shower drains are constantly getting clogged no matter how much snaking or store-bought drain cleaner you use, your water line is either clogged or is broken. This can also happen if your sewer line is clogged or broken as well. Either way, you will need to call in our experts to help resolve the problem.

The 40-year-old heating system at my mother-in-law's house failed a week before Thanksgiving. We had used JW 5 years ago for our house and they did an amazing job. They were our first call for our current issue. Roberto, our service technician, came out and was kind, professional, courteous, and gave us outstanding service. He couldn't solve the problem with the unit on the initial visit and went over and above to find replacement parts and devise a solution- including rearranging his schedule so that he could attend to our needs as soon as possible. Ultimately, the old unit could not be repaired and I spoke with Eric to explore other options. This is a company that takes pride in providing outstanding service and hiring amazing people like Roberto. I'm a big fan of this company and will use them as my first call for any of my heating and air conditioning needs.

Recently I had a plumbing safety inspection done. Kevin came to check things out. My water lines were in good shape. He then proceeded to inspect my gas lines under the house. He found leaks in some of the lines. Kevin showed me videos of a test he performed, which showed the gas escaping. He was patient and very professional as he explained everything he had done and exactly what he found. The visuals he presented helped see exactly what he was talking about. He proceeded to talk to his supervisor, and it was decided to turn off my gas for the night. I appreciated Kevin's concern for my safety.First thing the next morning Kevin, his supervisor and the manager all showed up. They conducted one more test that confirmed the leaks, showed me those results, and gave me options. These options were explained fully to me. They gave me plenty of opportunity to ask questions too, making sure I understood exactly what each option entailed. I didn't want to mess around where gas was concerned, so I chose to replace and redo the entire gas lines.Kevin continued to be a most caring person, and saw the entire project through, start to finish. He explained the inspection procedure to me, and even cleared his schedule to be here when the city came to do their inspection.I was extremely happy with this experience. Kevin went above and beyond, which I appreciated immensely. He was professional, as well as caring, courteous and respectful.

There are pluses and minuses to working with a large company. In our case we did a complete HVAC upgrade. The teams were very fast and efficient. We had few other companies give us bids, one was a little lower and a couple were a little higher. The only downside of this, is that all the teams do their thing and it doesn't appear that they know what the other teams have to do or is done. This was a really big job, and there were a few glitches along the way. The team we worked with was outstanding in the quality of work and the time it took to do the job. Eric, our project coordinator was exceptional. He listened to what we were trying to achieve and showed us many options to get there. Once the work was completed, he came by to set everything up and make sure we were happy with the work done. We went from a system that couldn't keep up with the SoCal heat to a house that goes as cold as we want. I don't think our experience could have gone better, a great company to work with

To properly fix a broken main water line you will need to have a professional plumber from JW Heating & Air complete the repairs. Fixing a broken water main line consists of quickly applying epoxy to the areas of the pipe that are cracked. The epoxy will start drying within one to two minutes once applied and takes about an hour to completely harden.
Main water lines typically break due to excessive or uneven water pressure. Most pipes and faucets can only handle a certain level of water pressure before they will start to leak. If you suspect that your main water line has a break, or your water pressure may be too high, have a certified plumber from JW Heating & Air inspect your main water line.
The amount of time it takes to fix a main water line break depends on the size of the break, where the break is located, and what type of environment it’s in. Where the break is located is the most crucial aspect. With that said, water main breaks generally take around four to eight hours to repair. If your main water line has broken, call JW Heating & Air immediately to make the proper repairs.
Yes, a water main can break. Signs that your water main may have a break include an unexplained puddle of water (usually underneath a sink or on the floor), random puddles of water in or around your yard, and water flooding in your street. If you notice any of these types of puddles in or around your property, call JW Heating & Air right away.
To properly locate a water main leak, you will most likely need a certified plumber from JW Heating & Air to do so. Your plumber will locate your meter and check the leak indicator to see if it is moving. If the dial is in fact moving, it is very likely that you have a water main leak.
Main water lines are typically at least three feet below ground and not apparent to the eye. Water supply lines connect your household plumbing to the local community water supply lines (or to a well in more rural areas). If you are attempting to locate where your main water line is, or you suspect you may have a break in your main water line, call JW Heating & Air to have a certified plumber dispatched to precisely locate where your main water line is.

Alex Amaro did a great job on my furnace tuneup. Great photos of my unit — which was in tip top condition. New filter ordered. Thank you!
